DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER TRINH DINH DUNG VISITED THE NINE PROJECT
[Hanoi, March 30, 2021] Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung had a working session with the Vietnam Association of Construction Contractors and visited some key projects that the Association’s members are implementing in Hanoi. In particular, The Nine project by Newtecons at the role of General Contractor was honored to welcome the Deputy Prime Minister.
After the report of the Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Construction Contractors, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung recognized the important contributions of construction contractors in the socio-economic development of our country. “In recent years, Vietnam’s construction sector has developed strongly, approaching advanced construction techniques of the region and the world; Contributing to change the context of the country through large and key construction projects in urban areas, industry, civil works, and many other service works. Vietnamese contractors have affirmed their important role in this process,” said by Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung.
After visiting, quality inspecting of many big construction projects performed by Vietnamese contractors; in particular, visiting The Nine project site (Investor – GP.Invest; General contractor – Newtecons) in the morning on March 30, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung affirmed the capacity of technology, equipment and people of the Vietnamese contractors completely meet the requirements of large-scale projects which require high technology levels.
“Based on available capacity and experience, the contractors need to continually restructure, improve governance efficiency, focus on human resource training, innovate technologies to reduce costs, increase the business competitiveness and the construction sector in Vietnam,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the Vietnamese constructors have many opportunities and favorable conditions for development currently. Vietnam’s total social investment is approximately 34% of GDP, of which construction investment accounts for about 70%. This shows that the workload of the construction sector in the future will be very large. This is both an opportunity and a big challenge for domestic contractors, especially in the context of international economic integration.
In the solemn meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister, representatives of Newtecons Board of Directors and The Nine Project Board committed to grow the role of a reputable, professional, and fair General Contractor in the construction sector, contribute to economic development as the expectation of Deputy Prime Minister.
